The head at the Office of National Security, Mr Abdulai Caulker, is a decent man, and his contribution to the nation has been applauded by both local and international partners. Mr Caulker did not just rise to occupy the position of National Coordinator, he was among those who started the Office of National Security under the leadership of the late President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah. As a result-oriented individual, Mr Caulker has been able to maintain a career of that is free from reproach and all illegal trappings., adhering strictly to the dictates of his mandate and promoting the security of the state. As Nscoord, Mr Caulker has the knack for processing and acting on credible intelligence, and his preference for teamwork speaks volumes of his administrative acumen and dedication to duty.
In all his years at ONS, Mr. Abdulai Caulker has demonstrated love for country through his sacrifice to ensure Sierra Leone continues to enjoy peace. Appointed by President Bio to that very sensitive office, Mr Caulker has not failed to impress the President with his work, giving him regular briefing on the security situation in the country. His belief in collective work puts him above insinuations and speculations of witch-hunting, earning him the respect of his compatriots.
Over the last few weeks, there have been allegations floating on social media implicating the ONS Boss on issues he has no knowledge about. First it was a story peddled on social media about drugs allegedly arrested at Portie Wharf in the east of Freetown. Just few days after that, another hatched and machinated story was also put out just to dent and discredit a man, whose service to President Bio has never been questioned. It will interest readers to know that from investigations conducted, even the sources allegedly quoted of the story earlier published, have come out vehemently denying those allegations as not only false, but black lies.
Unfortunately, in a society where the good work of one man offends others, such unsubstantiated stories always show their heads, aimed at tainting the hard earned reputation of good people, but for those who know Mr Caulker, it is an attempt at futility. The Aberdeen story recently published by Gleaner online News lacks evidence to corroborate the facts. The Local Unit Commander at Aberdeen Police Station, whose name was initially being rumoured to have implicated the ONS Boss, has openly denied such claims. In his own words, the LUC told this medium that he has never engaged any journalist on such rumour, and does not even know where those rumours are coming from.
An in-depth investigation conducted by this writer has it that some people envying the position of the ONS Boss are building fake stories to bring him down. What they have failed to realize is that His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio, an expert in security matters and a former military man, is able to discern between fake and reality. He knows that Mr Caulker has been very much committed to his duty and has always delivered on his mandate. As long as President Bio is pleased with the service, commitment, dedication and hard work of the ONS Boss, haters should just give way and allow the man to do his job.
In all of these allegations, none have come up with any substantial evidence to implicate the ONS Boss other than hearsay and concocted stories.
In our next edition, we will begin to name and shame those behind this dastardly act.
