Parliament Increases NRA Revenue Mobilization To NLe14.972Bn

The Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority, Mrs. Jeneba Kpaka-Bangura, has revealed in a Press briefing that the Parliament of Sierra Leone has set a NLe14.972 billion as a target for NRA in 2024.

Commissioner Bangura said that NRA collected NLe 10.1 billion in 2023 from the NLe10.277 billion target set by the IMF, which is about 4% short. This, according to her, was due to the 2023 General Election, Curfew, and other security issues in the country.

The Commissioner General further urged citizens to use the Electronics Cash Register (ECR) in order to collect their GST receipt, assuring that collecting receipts from the ECR, ensures their clients that their GST payment goes to the Government.

The Parliament of Sierra Leone approved Jeneba Kpaka Bangura as the Commissioner-General of the National Revenue Authority (NRA) in December 2023.
