In the past three months the world has witnessed severe natural disasters resulting in the deaths of over fourteen thousand people in Morocco and Libya respectively.
These incidents should serve as an early warning sign, especially to us in Sierra Leone, considering our experience with mudslide flooding, landslide etc.
Freetown alone stands on the brink of a natural disaster, thanks to deforestation, sand mining destruction of the mangrove etc. this is a clarion call for us to pay attention to environmental protection and climate change, looking into risk assessment for us not to face the same fate as others.
