Orange Warns 071 Subscribers of SIM Barred Deadline as November 1 Approaches

Orange Sierra Leone has urged all customers using mobile numbers with the 071 prefix to update their SIM registration before November 1, 2026, warning that unregistered SIM cards will be barred from the network from that date.
In a public notice issued to its customers, the telecommunications company said the measure is in compliance with a directive from the National Communications Authority (NatCA), requiring all subscribers with unregistered 071 numbers to complete their SIM registration to avoid service interruption.

Orange Sierra Leone has therefore called on affected customers to act immediately by updating their SIM registration with their National Identification Number (NIN).
The company explained that customers can complete the process conveniently through the Max it App or dial *999# to check the registration status of their SIM cards.
Alternatively, subscribers can visit any Orange shop across the country for assistance with the registration process.

To make the exercise more accessible, Orange has also announced that its shops will remain open on weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to support customers who may be unable to visit during regular working hours.
The telecommunications company has cautioned customers against waiting until the deadline, emphasising that failure to register before November 1 could result in their SIM cards being barred.
Orange reiterated its commitment to keeping customers connected and encouraged all affected subscribers to complete the registration process promptly.
