Festive Season Celebrations in Top Gear
By Sall Tee Jay
Sierra Leone is currently basking in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility that is truly commendable. The nation stands as a shining example of calm and stability, especially during this festive season when social activities are at their peak. This prevailing peace is a direct result of the proactive, coordinated, and professional efforts of the country’s Security Sector, which comprises the Office of National Security (ONS), the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).

Through unwavering dedication, strategic planning, and tireless commitment, these three critical security institutions have ensured that safety is guaranteed in every nook and cranny of the country. From bustling urban centers to serene coastal communities, Sierra Leone remains safe, secure, and welcoming.

A drive along the Freetown axis towards Aberdeen–Lumley Beach, Levuma Beach, Goderich, Laka, Hamilton, Sussex, No. 2 River, and Tokeh tells a powerful story of peace. The calmness of the environment, the laughter of families, and the lively scenes at entertainment spots vividly demonstrate a nation at ease. Citizens and visitors alike can be seen partying, relaxing, and celebrating freely—clear evidence that security is firmly in place.

This remarkable achievement is being realized under the purposeful leadership of His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, whose commitment to national peace and security continues to yield tangible results. Special commendation goes to the National Security Coordinator, Mr. Abdulai Caulker; the Inspector General of Police, Mr. William Fayia Sellu; the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Idara Bangura and the head of the Central Intelligence and Security Agency (CISA) Mr. Idrissa Ansumana. Their collective leadership, professionalism, and foresight have been instrumental in maintaining law, order, and public confidence throughout this festive period.

Indeed, the dividends of proactive security management are evident. Sierra Leone is not only peaceful—it is vibrant, lively, and open for business. This is a moment worthy of celebration, as the country confidently opens its doors to tourists, investors, and holidaymakers from across the globe. Visitors can come and enjoy a splendid time, experience warm hospitality, and relax on some of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in West Africa.
Sierra Leone is safe. Sierra Leone is peaceful. And Sierra Leone is ready to welcome the world.
