In a momentous event held in Kenema City, Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, officially commissioned the Fatima Maada Bio Multi-Purpose Hall, signifying a remarkable milestone for the city. The event garnered the attendance of esteemed dignitaries, including Mayor Thomas Bayoh, who expressed heartfelt appreciation for Her Excellency’s instrumental role in realizing this pivotal project.
Mr. Gbessay Jusu Ngobeh, the Resident Minister of the East and also the SLPP Kailahun District Chairman, highlighted the transformative impact of President Julius Maada Bio’s developmental projects in the Kenema district during his address. He emphasized how President Julius Maada Bio has revitalized the district, noting the long-standing dilapidation of the multi-purpose hall for over 39 years. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to President Julius Maada Bio and the First Lady for their support in the construction of the Fatima Maada Bio Multi-Purpose Hall.
In his remarks, the Honourable Moriba Koroma, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, commended Her Excellency’s relentless dedication to the advancement of the Kenema district. He emphasized their unwavering confidence in President Julius Maada Bio and the SLPP administration, citing the significant developmental strides witnessed in the district under their leadership. He concluded by reaffirming their support for the government’s initiatives aimed at driving progress and prosperity in the region.
During her keynote address, Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio conveyed her appreciation to Mayor Bayoh for the honour of having the hall named after her. She emphasized the importance of gender equality and pledged her commitment to combating the scourge of drugs, particularly among the youths, to safeguard their future. Additionally, she expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received since President Julius Maada Bio assumed office, highlighting the significant infrastructure developments witnessed in Kenema City under his leadership.
Furthermore, Her Excellency noted the extensive road network commissioned during President Bio’s tenure, and announced plans for further expansion. She also pledged her support for the construction of a state-of-the-art SLPP Kenema Party Office, underscoring her support for advancing the party’s objectives.
Kandeh Yumkella, Brima Swaray, and a host of other SLPP party officials and government dignitaries graced the occasion.
The event concluded with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the official inauguration of the Fatima Maada Bio Multi-Purpose Hall and reaffirming the government’s commitment to fostering development in the Kenema district.
