Orange Sierra Leone Warns Customers Against Suspicious Links and OTP Scams

Orange Sierra Leone has urged its customers to remain vigilant against online fraud, warning them to avoid clicking on suspicious links received through SMS, email and social media platforms.
In a customer advisory, the telecommunications company emphasised that it would never ask customers to disclose their passwords or One-Time PINs (OTPs), which are used to verify transactions and protect accounts from unauthorised access.

The company advised customers experiencing difficulties generating an OTP to contact its customer support team through official communication channels or call 111 for assistance.
Orange Sierra Leone also encouraged customers to verify the authenticity of information and communications claiming to originate from the company, particularly those requesting sensitive personal or financial information.
To help customers identify its verified online platforms and access reliable information, the company provided its official social media handles across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X.

On Facebook, customers can follow Orange (SL) and Orangemoney SL. Its Instagram accounts are @Orange_sierraleone and @orangemoney_sl, while its LinkedIn page is Orange SL. On X, the company can be found at @Orange_sierra.
The advisory forms part of the company’s efforts to promote digital safety and protect customers from phishing attempts and other fraudulent activities that could compromise their personal information and financial security.

Orange Sierra Leone urged customers to exercise caution when interacting with online messages, avoid sharing confidential security codes and use only verified company channels when seeking assistance.
