In a remarkable show of unity and patriotism, the All People’s Congress (APC) Party organized a historic Peace and Reconciliation Conference in Bassa Town, Waterloo, on June 21, 2025. The event brought together all APC flagbearer candidates and extended a heartfelt invitation to the nation, with a strong call for peace, unity, and love — not just within the party, but for the entire country.
The people of Waterloo made history with their warm and enthusiastic welcome of Sheikh Alhaji Mohammed Omodu Kamara, affectionately known as Jagaban. From Tombo Cemetery to Tombo Junction, Jagaban was greeted by jubilant crowds urging him to stand in his vehicle and wave to the people — a gesture he accepted, bringing immense joy to the masses.
As Jagaban entered the Bassa Town Field, the atmosphere turned electric. The crowd erupted in cheers, waving banners and chanting slogans of support. Many voices in the crowd declared:
“Ooh yes! Jagaban is the only leader we want as our next flagbearer in 2026, and the future President in 2028!”
Jagaban, visibly moved by the love shown, continued to wave and declared: “I love you all!” After taking his seat, many community members came forward to express heartfelt appreciation for his leadership and to share their local challenges — emphasizing that he remains one of the few leaders truly responsive to the people’s needs.
The event featured a cultural and traditional display in honor of Jagaban, symbolizing the people’s deep respect and desire for his leadership.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was a gesture of unity, when Mr. Sorie Suliaman Sesay, a fellow flagbearer aspirant, approached Jagaban. In a spirit of brotherhood, the two embraced warmly — sending a powerful message that politics must not divide us. Their meeting stood as a reminder that the APC must stand united as one family to return to State House in 2028.
