The Paragons Foundation–Sierra Leone successfully convened its 7th Annual Summit at the Malachy Motel in Moyamba. The summit commenced with the keynote address, delivered by Mr. Joseph Gbogba, and speeches by Mr. James Foh – on behalf of the Former United Methodist Young Adults (FUMYA), and Rev. Michael Columba, Regional District Superintendent.
The Paragons Foundation–Sierra Leone is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) composed of United Methodist Church members, who were once part of the church’s Youths and Young Adults Organizations. Since its inception, the foundation has played a pivotal role in mentoring young leaders, supporting smaller congregational churches and fostering community development.
This year’s summit was particularly significant, as it marked an election year for the organization. The foundation now has a new Chief, Chief Paragon Aloysius B. Moisia, and a Deputy Chief, Martha Kpaka Williams. Their leadership ushers in a new chapter of growth, service and outreach, as they take on the responsibility of guiding the foundation towards greater impact. The summit also saw the induction of five new members, who took the oath of admittance, officially joining the Paragons family.
The summit reached its climax with a Thanksgiving Service held at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Moyamba.
The summit concluded on Sunday with a colorful Praise Service at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Moyamba, centered on the Paragons theme—”A Charge to Keep.”
The sermon was delivered by Rev. Emmerson Laggah, Regional Superintendent (South), who emphasized the foundation’s call to faithful service, responsibility and devotion to its mission.
In keeping with the foundation’s philanthropy to Trinity Church Moyamba, and to a small church in the remote community of Mokerewa, to strengthen their ministries.
