Gov’t Security Sector in Top Gear

The Government of Sierra Leone continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to strengthening the nation’s security sector through the dedicated efforts of the National Security Coordinator (NSCoord), the Inspector General of Police (IG), and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). Working together under the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio, who serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Head of National Security, these institutions remain focused on maintaining peace, stability, and public safety across the country.

President Bio has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing efforts of the NSCoord, the IG, and the CDS in enhancing coordination among the country’s security institutions. Their continued collaboration has helped reinforce national security, improve public confidence, and ensure that Sierra Leone remains peaceful and secure.

The government has invested in strengthening the capacity of the security sector through improved coordination, training, and operational readiness. These efforts are aimed at protecting lives and property while promoting peace, national unity, and the rule of law.

The commitment shown by the country’s security leadership has also received positive recognition from members of the international community, who continue to support Sierra Leone’s efforts to build a stable, peaceful, and democratic nation.
