The fullahs are one of the majority tribe in Sierra Leone, mainly considered in the business sector, in an out of Sierra Leone. They are also seen as one of the most united ethnic group in the country, and even other countries in an out of Africa.
This sector has been battling since colonial days for their presence to be felt everywhere in society, especially at government level, but they are facing several challenges among themselves and others sectors, because they inherited the business of their forefather: buying and selling goods, rearing animals like cow, goat and sheep in the worreh, with littler consideration for education as a key factor in human development.
Now, in the current age, money and education go side by side in achieving firm human capital development. Thus, somebody must be educated to run his business properly.
The Fullahs, under the dynamic leadership of Alahaji Sajor Jalloh, can today boast of the best governance system, with issuance of confirmation letters, and certificates to work as judges in their communities. They now have a well-organized administration like all other ethnic groups in the country.
The certification ceremony was warmly graced by the Internal Affairs Members of Parliament and tribal heads from the fourteen districts. Concluding the ceremony, the National Fullah Tribal Head cautioned them that they are not going out there to extract money from people, but to dispense justice accordingly, as anyone caught in misleading games, will be dealt with. “I call on you to join hands with the government to make sure that community matters are seriously managed at the community level,” he said.
