Police declare Mohamed Jalloh and Ibrahim Jalloh wanted

Sierra Leone Police has declared one Mohamed Jalloh, aged 24, of No.45 Badembaia road, Kabala, Falaba District and one Ibrahim Jalloh wanted on allegation of  arson and other related offences against the Traditional Cultural Bondo Society .

Times SL Northern correspondent Lamin Bangura who filed this report explained based on evidence from Kabala Police Division that Mohamed Jalloh was allegedly reported to have committed this dastardly act setting ablaze the Women’s Secret Society Bush located 5 miles off the township of Musaia which also resulted in the burning of three houses.

According to official report from the Police, it stated that ‘‘on Wednesday 1st December, 2021 at 22:45hrs Mohamed Jawara the Section Chief for Musaia Section in Dembelia Musaia Chiefdom in Falaba District in the North-East Region of the Republic of Sierra Leone arrived at the Kabala Police Station and reported that on Sunday 1st December, 2021 about 22:00hrs at Musaia Town in Dembelia Musaia Chiefdom Falaba District one Mohamed Jalloh aged 24 of NO. 45 Badembaia in Kabala town; maliciously set ablaze the Women’s  Secret Society bush located one mile off the township of Musaia and as a result, the fire spread out and engulfed the Bondo house where belongings of the Bondo Society was kept. Thereafter one Naomi Conteh aged 21 who was to get married to the Paramount Chief of Dembelia Musaia Chiefdom, was in the said secret society bush carrying out traditional ceremonies, was also reported missing, following the arson’’, the police report stated. It is understood that as a result of the intelligence of the report, a team of police officers from the Kabala Police Station visited the crime scene and took photographs which were preserved as evidence.

Consequently, the police team together with youths of the said chiefdom explored the forest in a rigorous search of Naomi Conteh and to also affect the arrest of the said suspect, Mohamed Jalloh who is on the run.

The police later obtained statements from complainant and three other witnesses separately whose statements were read and certified before our reporter in the person of Lamin Bangura.

Due to the unavailability of the suspect, police later arrested Madieu Jalloh while Ibrahim Jalloh  escaped. Both Madieu Jalloh and Ibrahim Jalloh, report states escorted and accompany Mohamed Jalloh to commit the crime. The police after tirelessly searched for the suspect became futile, issued a warrant for his arrest.      Investigation revealed that the Community Youth Spokesman, Alimamy Conteh alongside few others were reported to have allegedly conspired with the suspect in committing the crime are also on the run.
