17 years Old Traditional Healer’s Son Mohamed Musa Bah Face Death Threats

Mohamed Musa Bah, a native of Bongema Village in Nimikoro Chiefdom, Kono District, Eastern Sierra Leone, is reportedly facing serious threats following his refusal to succeed his father as a traditional leader.

According to reports, Musa was born to Mr. Chernor Amadu Bah and Madam Hawa Bah. His father is widely known in the community as a traditional healer and practitioner. He is said to be associated with several traditional societies, including the Poro, Sokobana, and Wojeh societies. The reports added that, Mr. Bah has two wives and three children, with Musa being the eldest son.
According to family sources, Musa, as the first son, was traditionally expected to succeed his father in leadership roles within the traditional societies. However, he consistently rejected the expectation, reportedly opposing any attempt to initiate him into the traditional institutions.

Our sources that preferred anonymity added that, in September 2024, Mohamed Musa reportedly fled Sierra Leone to avoid a planned initiation ceremony that was scheduled to take place in November 2024 and an alleged murder case against him. The ceremony was allegedly intended to formally transfer traditional authority to him, in the presence of other traditional leaders.
He sought refuge with a relative in Freetown. However, after several months, his father allegedly discovered his whereabouts and warned the relative to return Musa or face consequences. Initially, the relative reportedly dismissed the threats. Weeks later, his tea shop was destroyed under unclear circumstances, prompting fears for his safety.
Our sources further added that, faced with mounting pressure, the relative allegedly persuaded Musa to return home. He provided him with transportation fare and some financial support.

After he returns from a holiday in Freetown the Capital city he had grown and wider his civilization and believe as a Muslim which doesn’t strongly believes and accept these tradition. Fews days after situation started getting out of hands but he was escorted by three of his friends from Freetown, after severe maltreatment at the hands of his father and stepmother, which later resulting in physical attacks that they also couldn’t sit back.

Mohamed father threatened to kill him if he continued to resist the traditional demands placed upon him, the situation later gears up after cutlasses, wounded weapons were claim by some village youths which lead to blood shed and damages, Mohamed and his friends succeeded by escaping and hidden in bushes.
Sadly after some days since their disappearance reports says that three people were dead and some badly injured due to the fight.

Since his departure, however, Musa’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Family sources further claim that Musa’s father has vowed to kill him upon his return to Sierra Leone, allegedly to appease traditional gods over what he believes to be a betrayal.
Before going to press Musa’s father has refused to comment on the matter but warned that it is a traditional matter and outsiders will face severe consequences.
