Whilst celebrating the International Women’s Day, Women should have also included in their speech for those women, who are in the habit of smearing the good image of Innocent and honest men in society, to stop forthwith and allow the men to Breathe. Majority of the women folks strongly believe that once hiding under the cloak of “Women Rights or Abuse against Women” they are surely going to gain public sympathy. That does not mean the platform should be used to destroy, assasinate and smear the good image and character of hardworking men in society.
There are certain group of women in Sierra Leone who take pride to slur on the image of Innocent men, either because they have failed in seducing these men or extorting them. Most of the men are suffering in silence, but are afraid to speak out because they strongly believe once their stories come out, public perception and public gullibility always weigh in to support women. We must not lose sight of the fact that women should not be protected, but what we should understand is the level of dishonesty, hatred and machinations being hatched to bring down good and innocent men in society. The case of Dr. Ekundayo Walton Gilpin comes to mind. This is a man, whose zest in supporting women and Women’s organisations cannot be overemphasised. He is a man of peace. A God fearing personality who believes in human personal relationships.
There are certain women folks who are taking undue advantage of the generosity of this fine gentleman to either extort him or make him look bad in the eyes of the public. Truth be told, Dr. Gilpin is not the only man undergoing this. There are other Dr. Gilpins, whose stories about some wicked, dishonest women have landed them in pain. They have been dragged to live in silence, and some men are victim of women bullying, to the extent that they are not allowed to breathe. Therefore, we want those in charge of the International Women’s Day Ceremony to speak truth to their conscience by advising those women folks to desist from the smearing campaign against decent and innocent men in society. Allow the men to breathe and enjoy a sigh of relief!
