Melron C. Nicol -Wilson is a reputable and fearless criminal defence and human rights lawyer, who studied law in England, South Africa, Sweden and Sierra Leone. He holds several degrees in law, including a master’s degree in international criminal law and a master’s degree in international human rights law.


He has featured as defence counsel in major criminal cases in Sierra Leone, including the Special court trials (where he is the only lawyer that won a contempt case for a kamajor commander, Moinina Fofanah), the Miss Sierra Leone murder trial – which he won, he represented APC flagbearer, Dr Samura kamara during his corruption trial.
In 2020 he won the murder case of former Freetown Mayor, Herbert George Williams and Abubakarr Daramy before the high court of Sierra Leone etc.
He is the former ombudsman of the Republic of Sierra Leone, former legal adviser of the Anti Corruption Commission, former Director of the lawyers centre for legal assistance (LAWCLA), former case manager at the Special Court for Sierra Leone, former lecturer in international law at Fourah Bay College and presently the head of Malaika Chambers.
