In continuous demonstration of its commitment to providing safe and clean drinking water for vulnerable communities as a fundamental human right, WHH SL on Wednesday 16th September launched a new WASH project at the Bonthe District Council in Mattru Jong, Bonthe District.
The “INCREASING ACCESS TO WATER, HYGIENE AND SANITATION SERVICES IN BONTHE PROJECT” funded by #charitywater aims to increase access to water in communities across 4 chiefdoms (Yawbeko, Jong, Nongoba Bullom and Kpanda Kemoh) in Bonthe district, directly benefitting 6,179 daily water users across 18 rural communities through the construction of 104 new hand-pump-equipped water points and the rehabilitation of one existing water point.
By combining infrastructure improvements with community management, operation and maintenance capacity building, and systems strengthening, the project will contribute to reliable and sustainable access to safe water for all targeted users.
