The National Communications Authority (NatCA) has assured the public that it is actively monitoring the ongoing cybersecurity incidents affecting digital services across Sierra Leone, and is working with key stakeholders to ensure a coordinated response.
In a statement issued on Thursday, 30th July ,2026, NatCA said it is collaborating with relevant Government institutions, law enforcement agencies, licensed operators, and other stakeholders to address the incidents and strengthen the country’s cybersecurity response.
As the regulator of Sierra Leone’s electronic communications sector, the Authority reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the security, resilience, and integrity of the nation’s digital communications infrastructure.
NatCA urged communications service providers and digital platforms to enhance their cybersecurity measures, promptly report any security incidents, and comply with established cybersecurity standards to help safeguard critical digital systems.
The Authority also advised members of the public to remain vigilant by avoiding suspicious links and messages, protecting their personal information, and enabling multi-factor authentication on their digital accounts where available.
Describing cybersecurity as a shared responsibility, NatCA said it will continue to closely monitor the situation, work with relevant stakeholders to strengthen Sierra Leone’s cyber resilience, and provide timely updates through its official communication channels as necessary.
