RCBANK Embraces National Switch Payment System
Staff members of Rokel Commercial Bank (RCBANK) actively participated in the National Switch float parade, showcasing the newly launched financial system aimed at enhancing access to banking services across the country.
The National Switch system promises to revolutionize the way financial transactions are conducted in Sierra Leone, by making it easier for customers to perform transactions across multiple banks without the need for numerous cards or separate accounts.
This system is also set to reduce reliance on cash transactions, offering a more secure and convenient payment experience for users.
As part of the nationwide rollout, several commercial banks have already gone live with the system. These include Rokel Commercial Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Ecobank, Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, Union Trust Bank, and United Bank for Africa. The system is also supported by two major mobile network operators, Orange and Africell, further expanding its reach and accessibility.
RCBANK’s participation in the float parade highlights the bank’s commitment to embracing innovation and driving financial inclusion, aligning with broader efforts to modernize the financial landscape in Sierra Leone. The new system is expected to streamline payments, improve security, and make banking services more accessible to a wider population.
The launch of the National Switch system is seen as a critical step towards greater financial integration and convenience for Sierra Leoneans, contributing to the country’s growing digital economy.
