The Kissy Industry Workers Association (KIWA) on Friday, 4 September 2026, successfully conducted elections to choose a new Executive Committee that will steer the affairs of the association for the coming term.
Speaking after the election, the Human Resource Manager, Mrs. Cecilia Modupeh Kamara, expressed satisfaction with the resilience, maturity, and commitment demonstrated by workers throughout the electoral process. She commended members for maintaining peace and calm before, during, and after the elections.
Mrs. Kamara noted that the primary objective behind the formation of KIWA is to promote and protect the welfare and well-being of workers. She described the election as free, fair, transparent, and credible, and thanked the Election Committee for conducting a smooth and successful exercise.
Also addressing the gathering, Manager Daniel Shallop said he was impressed by the professionalism, integrity, and dedication exhibited by the Election Committee throughout the process. He urged the newly elected executives to serve diligently, emphasizing that the workforce remains a vital component of every institution.
Mr. Shallop further encouraged the new leadership to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in the discharge of their responsibilities.

– Secretary General: Ishmail S. Kamara
– Female Representative: Mariama S. Bampia
– Public Relations Officer (PRO): Alie Kamara
– Organizing Secretary: Larry Katta
– Welfare Officer: Alusine Kanu
– Financial Secretary: Philip Betty
– Treasurer: Alpha Kanu
Members congratulated the newly elected officials and expressed optimism that the new leadership will work collectively to advance the interests and welfare of all workers within the association.
