Youth Officer, Inspector Sheku Ganda has been given the task by the Sierra Leone Police to head the A-Division Operations at the Central Police Station, in the heart of the municipality of Freetown.
The task given to Inspector Sheku Ganda is described as a step in the right direction to promote and empower young people which is evidently seen in the second term of President Bio’s government.
Inspector Ganda has been selected to head the Operations Wing of the A-Division, a position which is challenged with enormous task and responsibilities on internal security.
Inspector Ganda was massively welcomed when taking over his new area of responsibility. In a snappy interviewed conducted by this writer, quite a good number of citizens expressed positive sentiment and commended the police for not only empowering young people but for giving responsibility to hardworking officers whose footprints on good policing is evidently seen all over the place. Therefore, majority of those interviewed commended the Inspector General of Police William Fiyia Sellu for boldly emulating the footstep of President Bio in empowering young people.
According to cross section of police officers who granted interview to this writer, they expressed that Ganda’s new task was a step in the right direction as he is known to be a very diligent and committed officer. He is on record to have performed exceptionally well in all his previous areas of operations. Inspector Ganda is reported as one among thousands of police officers who has been working tremendously to restore the good image of the Sierra Leone Police Force as a force for good. Business people who have come across him also spoke good of him referencing how he has been very helpful to them in nabbing criminals and making their business environment a crime-free zone.
Inspector Ganda is said to have been the helping hand to Superintendent George Momoh, Former Operations Officer at the Central Police Division. It was learnt that because of the support, commitment and dedication of Inspector Ganda, his former boss enjoyed a cordial working relationship with him.
Therefore, many believed with him now at the helm of affairs as in charge of operations, it is likely crime rate within the central business district will drastically reduce as he is known to be a no-nonsense officer.
