The leading flagbearer aspirant of the Sierra Leone People’s Party the Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally has called on his supporters and delegates within the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) to remain steadfast, resilient, tolerant and committed to the continued progress and unity of the Party amidst unwarranted provocation and undeserved innuendos.
This appeal comes as political activities and discussions surrounding the SLPP’s future leadership and preparations for the 2028 electoral cycle continue to attract public attention.
Speaking during a video call from Dubai, where he is presently engaging with partners and associates on potential investment opportunities involving Sierra Leone, Tarawally urged his supporters to remain focused on constructive political engagement and the broader interests of the Party.
He appealed particularly to members and supporters of the Women and Men in Action 4 Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally to continue engaging with people within and outside the SLPP in a peaceful and respectful manner.
According to Tarawally, grassroots mobilisation should be centred on dialogue, tolerance, inclusiveness and the presentation of ideas capable of attracting wider support for the Party.
He further encouraged his supporters and delegates to work constructively with the current SLPP National executive and other stakeholders, stressing the importance of unity and discipline as the Party prepares for the next electoral cycle.
A CALL FOR TOLERANCE AND DISCIPLINE
Tarawally’s message also comes against the backdrop of disagreements and competing views among individuals participating in discussions about the SLPP’s future direction.
Rather than allowing differences of opinion to undermine party cohesion, he encouraged his supporters to remain calm, disciplined and focused on their objectives.
He urged them to avoid personal confrontations and concentrate their efforts on strengthening grassroots engagement and maintaining positive relationships with fellow party members.
ENGAGING THE GRASSROOTS
The group known as Women and Men in Action 4 Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally has continued to engage supporters and potential supporters in different communities, according to the campaign group.
Tarawally encouraged its members to broaden their outreach while respecting differing political views and maintaining peaceful engagement.
He said the mobilisation effort should extend beyond existing supporters and reach citizens who may be interested in the Party’s programmes, leadership discussions and vision for Sierra Leone.
As preparations for the 2028 elections gradually gain momentum, the political environment within the SLPP is expected to remain active, with prospective candidates, delegates, supporters and other stakeholders participating in discussions about the Party’s future.
For Tarawally and his supporters, the immediate emphasis, according to his latest message, is on unity, resilience, grassroots engagement, peaceful political participation and a continued focus on Sierra Leone’s development.
By maintaining these principles, his supporters say they intend to remain actively engaged in the political process as the country moves towards the 2028 electoral cycle.
