Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Kabala Court, on Wednesday 26th June 2024, remanded a 42 yr old herbalist, Kankamusa Sesay, and 79 yr old store keeper, Bai Kamara
According to facts, the Herbalist was hired by the 1st accused, Bai Kamara, as sorcerer to investigate who stole money from his shop, in the process, a pot contained with fire was planted on Kolleh Mansaray, the victim’s stomach, and he sustained serious burns.
Both accused, Bai Kamara and Kankamusa Sesay are before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Kabala Magistrate Court on four count charges; ranging from conspiracy contrary to law, wounding with intent contrary to Section 18 of the offences against the Persons Act 1861, wounding contrary to Section 20 of the offences against the Persons Act 1861 and Assault ocasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 47 of the offences against the Persons Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence on count 1, both accused, Bai Kamara and Kankamusa Sesay, Sunday 9th June 2024, at Nfagie Street, Kabala in Wara Wara Yagalo Chiefdom, Koinadugu District, conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony, to wit: wounding with intent.
Count 2 states that the second accused, who is the herbalist, Kankamusa Sesay, on the same date and place, maliciously wounded Kolleh Mansaray with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
Count 3 states that the second accused, Kankamusa Sesay, on the same date and place, unlawfully wounded Kolleh Mansaray.
Count 4 furthered that the first accused, Bai Kamara, on the same date and place, assaulted Kolleh Mansaray in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
When the charges were read to both accused, no plea was taken and they are unrepresented.
Magistrate Daboh refused bail and remanded both accused in custody until the 7th July 2024.
