Dr Mo Ibrahim Engages APC Adams Bangura

In a week defined by high‑stakes political engagement and strategic international outreach, APC Diaspora Chairmanship aspirant, Comrade Adams Bangura, demonstrated, through action, access, and influence, the calibre of leadership required to reposition the APC Diaspora for global relevance. The week concluded with a distinguished interaction with celebrated African philanthropist and governance reform champion, Dr Mo Ibrahim, underscoring the level of platforms Comrade Bangura now consistently occupies.

The week opened on Monday, 23 March 2026, with a substantive meeting between Comrade Bangura and Kebbie Turay–led APC‑USA Executive. In this engagement, he delivered a clear and uncompromising vision for strengthening the APC’s diaspora architecture, reinforcing party unity, and elevating the political relevance of diaspora communities in national decision‑making. His message was direct: the diaspora must evolve, modernise, and assert its rightful influence.

On 24–25 March 2026, Comrade Bangura participated in Innovation 2026 (Innovate London), a UK government–sponsored global policy and technology forum. The event convened senior UK government officials, including Permanent Secretaries from the Ministries of Education, Defence, and the Home Office, alongside the Director General for Visas, Passports, Citizenship and Resettlement Services.

The forum brought together leading global experts in Artificial Intelligence, agentic robotics, and digital governance from the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, Spain, Malta, and other partner nations. Discussions focused on regulatory frameworks, digital transformation, citizen‑centred service delivery, and the role of open data in strengthening public trust. Comrade Bangura’s presence and contributions demonstrated a deep understanding of governance trends shaping modern public administration, knowledge that the APC Diaspora urgently needs in its next leader.

On 26 March 2026, Comrade Bangura attended the prestigious Chatham House Humanitarian Award 2025 ceremony. The event featured contributions from:

  • The Rt Hon Anneliese Dodds MP, former International Development Minister
  • Bronwen Maddox, Director and Chief Executive, Chatham House
  • Ahmed Soliman, Senior Research Fellow, Africa Programme
  • Sir Simon Fraser GCMG, Chair of Chatham House
  • Zeinab Badawi, award‑winning broadcaster and President of SOAS University (Chair of the event)

This year’s award, sponsored by Dr Mo Ibrahim, the Open Society Foundations, and the Quadrature Climate Foundation, honoured Sudan’s Emergency Response Rooms (ERRs) for their courageous humanitarian work amid the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

Delivering a congratulatory message on behalf of His Majesty the King, Sir Simon Fraser conveyed the monarch’s commendation and well wishes to the award recipients.

Following the ceremony, Comrade Bangura held a meaningful exchange with Dr Mo Ibrahim, expressing appreciation for his unwavering commitment to good governance, accountability, and principled leadership across Africa. He also acknowledged Dr Ibrahim’s consistent call for leadership that reflects the continent’s youthful demographic and the urgent need for inclusive, forward‑looking governance structures.

The week of 23–26 March 2026 continues to position Comrade Adams Bangura not merely as an attendee of international events, but as a leader‑in‑waiting who understands the central requirement of the APC Diaspora Chairmanship: networking capacity.

Networking capacity is not the superficial accumulation of contacts. It is the strategic ability to access influential platforms, translate complex global policy into tangible benefits for our constituents, and mobilise those relationships to elevate the APC’s standing on the international stage. Comrade Bangura has demonstrated all three dimensions with clarity, consistency, and measurable impact.

This series of engagements underscores a decisive and transformative week for Comrade Adams Bangura, reinforcing his readiness to lead, his capacity to engage at the highest levels, and his commitment to advancing the APC’s ideals globally. His conduct throughout the week reflects the discipline, strategic insight, and political maturity expected of the next leader of the APC Diaspora.
