A SATIRE TRIBUTE TO JOURNALISTS

EPISODE X1 PT9

WELL BODY NA GOLD

Smiling, Ibrahim Karim-Sei observed, “folks, a lots of tidings from upabove and for the past days, I can recall Gbondima Gbondo  who once said that Maada Bio is now like a Musa Lui story. I mean Small Musa.  Not Musa Tarawally, not Musa Timothy Kabba. Guess what guys? My former boss Philip Neville and Hon. Frank Kposowa together with Franklyn Bunting-Davies were discussing about Maada Bio’s successor.  APC politicians are desperate to return to power while the SLPP wants continuity.”

Karim-Sei further said, “I have received lots of text messages from both APC and SLPP politicians and I want us to discuss them. The discussions will include both veteran politicians here with us in downtown downbelow. Let me start by reading this text message from Hon. Pa Mannah Kpaka.”

Karim-Sei revealed, “let me first and foremost give a shout out praise to the journalist from State House, Hawa Moseray who made it possible for all the politicians to receive cellphones. Having been here for decades, we can now browse to know what’s happening upabove. When I saw my native home Pujehun Township and its surroundings, I was indeed elated.  I even saw the Chief Minister Moinina Sengeh dancing. Pujehun looks like a paradise, I’m happy today. I also saw the First Lady and Maada dancing too. I even called Francis Minah to which he responded, “uncle, let bygones be bygones. The Wanjamarians are now a united family.

Phillip Neville immediately said, “guys, SLPP are a little bit one step forward but if they allow APC to fast-track them behind, they will ever remain to regret it. They’re playing with fire.”

Suddenly, Osman Ben Kargbo and Gbondima Gbondo materialized singing, “life nor easy oh. ayyy ayyyyy  take am easy me brother, take am easy me sister…health na wealth…well body na gold… But if you nor take good care of yourself…who will take care of you?”

All the journalists joined their colleagues and dancing erupted as they shared among themselves the audio clips.

Ibrahim Karim-Sei observed, “well folks, China House upabove rings a bell.  But while I was there, I never ever saw my boss Phillip Neville at China House and even Mother and Child New Shaft columnist Franklyn Bunting-Davies.  But Osman Ben Kargbo and Gbondima Gbondo were always there.  Life is good when you’re happy and all of us are happy today. We’re going to continue our discussions on President Julius Maada Bio’s successor. For the APC, Ibrahim Bangura and Jagaban are the two front-runners.  For the SLPP, it’s really difficult to get the one and only. Kande Yumkella, Lady  Maada, Musa Tarawally, Musa Timothy Kabba, Allie Kabba, David Moinina Sengeh and Julius Sandy etc etc. The Musa Lui story continues unabated. Maada is man plus. The man who won the elections in 2018 and has made rapid infrastructural developments to the dismay of the APC. His legacy must be maintained or else? Is Sierra Leone going to have another miracle President? 2028 is just round the corner and hopefully we will witness free, fair and transparent elections.  A female or male President?”

Osman Ben Kargbo nodded his head and asked with observation, “Gbondima Gbondo, government is continuity. The SLPP has done a remarkable job headed by Maada Bio.  I think if APC wins the 2028 elections led by Ibrahim Bangura, he  will continue the good works done by the SLPP.”

Responding, Gbondima Gbondo turned to Osman Ben Kargbo and Hon. Kposowa, “are you day dreaming? In fact, the ECOWAS conference will soon take place in Freetown. Preparations are well in advance. In fact, the President inspected the state-of-the-art conference center and other facilities in Lungi last week, appealed for the event to be postponed to July when they will be ready instead of June. The President will definitely deliver his special speech during the conference next month. According to experts, the conference center is expected to be the best in the sub-region.”
