Water like fire they say, are good servants, but bad masters, and it’s masters’ visit on Saturday 30th, 2024 on the residents of Mange Bureh Village, including the Ward Chairman, left destructive path on the financial wellbeing of the people, many of whom, lost properties worth millions of Leones. Hence, the always serving ‘Moses’ of the Port Loko District Council, Chairman Sheku Tejan Saccoh, made a huge ‘Good Samaritan’ gesture of millions of Leones and food items dug from his own pocket to help create a hard to find solace at a moment like this.
The Chairman furthered that the council will engage in a counselling activity for all victims and need more bags of rice and clothing for the victims. The people’s Chairman vows to ensure that the council meets its promise, instead of waiting for the Central Government.
Chairman Sheku Tejan Saccoh’s generosity did not stop at the general donation, but gave the sum of Two Thousand Leones (NLe 2,000) to the wife of the Ward Chairman to mend the ugly harsh reality. As he ended with an assurance of the All People’s Congress Party’s intervention, he also gave the woman the sum of One Hundred Dollars, an equivalent of Two Million Four Hundred and Ten Leones (NLe 2,410) as a Start Up Capital for her small scale business.
