Two Men Declared Wanted After Alleged Same-Sex Incident

The reported disappearance of two men from Bo following an alleged same-sex incident has raised concerns among people familiar with the case, who say both individuals have remained out of contact since March 2025.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the incident occurred in Kindia Town, a predominantly Muslim community in Bo District. The sources alleged that one of the men, identified as Ibrahim Jalloh, and his partner, James Walker, were together at a private residence when a neighbour reportedly entered the premises and allegedly found the pair in an intimate moment.
The sources claimed the neighbour began shouting for help, drawing the attention of nearby residents. They further alleged that, fearing an attack from the gathering crowd, the two men fled the scene in separate directions.
Sources familiar with the matter said the issue was later reported to the police, and the two men were reportedly declared wanted by both the police and some members of the community as efforts were made to establish their whereabouts.
People familiar with the family say Ibrahim Jalloh comes from a deeply religious Muslim background and is the son of a respected imam in the Kindia Town community. Community members described the area as one where same-sex relationships are widely regarded as unacceptable under prevailing religious and cultural norms.

Relatives and other sources expressed concern that, as the allegations became widely known within the community, both men could face serious risks to their safety. They said neither Ibrahim Jalloh nor James Walker has been publicly seen or heard from since the reported incident, leaving family members and acquaintances uncertain about their whereabouts.
The disappearance has fueled speculation within the community.
