Barba Brima Fortune Becomes New Secretary To The President

In a significant administrative development for Sierra Leone, President Julius Maada Bio has officially appointed Mr. Barba Brima Fortune as the new Secretary to the President. This pivotal decision, made in accordance with Section 67(1) of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone, was formally announced by Press Secretary, Yusuf Keketoma Sandi, Esq., who conveyed the President’s full confidence in Mr. Fortune’s capabilities to effectively support the Executive branch.

Mr. Fortune steps into this crucial role bringing a wealth of experience gained from a distinguished career in public service. He previously served as the Secretary to the Vice President, demonstrating his familiarity with high-level governmental coordination. Furthermore, his tenure as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Country Planning, and the Environment, has honed his expertise in administrative excellence and governance, preparing him for the intricate responsibilities of his new position.

As Secretary to the President, Mr. Fortune will be instrumental in coordinating all activities within the Office of the President. His duties will encompass ensuring seamless communication channels between the Presidency and various government entities, a critical function for effective governance.
