His Excellency, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, on 18th June 2026, received a delegation comprising senior executives of the All People’s Congress (APC) and family members of the late Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray at State House, where they conveyed their heartfelt appreciation for the President’s swift intervention and support following the statesman’s passing. The late Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray passed away on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, in Dakar, Senegal.
Speaking on behalf of the APC and the bereaved family, Acting APC Chairman, Hon. Osman Foday Yansaneh, thanked President Bio for his compassionate response upon learning of Hon. Mansaray’s death. He noted that the President had maintained concern for the late politician throughout his illness and had promptly directed Government support for the repatriation of his remains.
“Your Excellency, we are here today as representatives of the APC and members of the immediate family to sincerely thank you for your compassionate approach and swift action following the passing of Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray. Your prompt instructions for the repatriation of his remains have been greatly appreciated by the family and the entire APC membership. We also recognize your continued concern for his well-being during his illness. We are truly grateful for your kindness and support during this difficult time,” Hon. Yansaneh stated.
Responding, President Bio expressed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and the APC leadership, describing the late Hon. Mansaray as a distinguished statesman, whose service and contributions transcended political affiliations.
“On behalf of the Government, the Sierra Leone People’s Party, and the people of Sierra Leone, I wish to formally extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and the APC. We have lost a great man, whose contributions to national development and democratic governance will be remembered for generations. His passing is not only a loss to his family, but also to the APC and the nation as a whole,” the President said.
President Bio encouraged the family and party members to remain strong and find comfort in the legacy of the late statesman, noting that while death is an inevitable part of life, a life of service leaves an enduring impact on society.
The President further assured the delegation of the Government’s continued support in ensuring that Hon. Mansaray receives a dignified and befitting farewell.
“As a Government, we will stand by you and provide the necessary support to ensure that Hon. Mansaray is accorded the dignified funeral he deserves. Once again, I extend my sincere condolences to the family and the APC leadership. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” President Bio concluded.
