A Sierra Leonean lady, Fatmata Morris and her friend have been declared wanted by the ruling party Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) after they were identified as party supporters of the All People’s Congress (APC) during the 2018 general elections.
It could be recalled that on the 20th February, 2018 when it was 2 weeks to elections, the aforementioned ladies dressed up in their party attires went to attend a campaign event at Kissy, in the east end of Freetown, 4 (four) unnamed thugs who described themselves as former rebels and members of the then opposition Party Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) attacked Fatmata .
The unnamed thugs were armed with cutlass, knife, and a rope in which they surprisingly referred to Fatmata and her friend that they are the rats that represent the APC opposition party that don’t want to see the SLPP in power? Adding that the unnamed thugs threatened to harm them. Immediately after they took off running, the thugs chased them and Fatmata was brutally attack, beaten and cut in the leg with a machete.
Consequently, when the SLPP won the 2018 elections, Fatmata Morris has to leave Sierra Leone to a safer country abroad and she has felt insecure to return to Sierra Leone because the unnamed thugs are currently working under the current ruling party SLPP.
Meanwhile, the Sierra Leone Police has issued warrant of arrest for Fatmata Morris.
Family and friends are now worried because non of them know the whereabout of their daughter, if she is dead or alive.
