Dr. Ibrahim Bangura extends his sincere gratitude to all APC members and supporters across the diaspora who have welcomed him during his ongoing consultative and familiarisation tour.
The DIB Movement has been notified about recent social media reports suggesting that the APC Canada Branch has officially endorsed Dr. Bangura. That post was not from the movement, and while we desist from reacting to social media claims, we wanted to make this clarification.
Note that Dr. Ibrahim Bangura’s candidacy is founded on the belief that the APC must rise above factionalism and reclaim its legacy through inclusive leadership and principled reforms. His recent visit was a familiarisation tour and not to seek an endorsement.
Meanwhile, readers must have recognised that official announcements and public statements by Dr. Ibrahim Bangura are usually issued on branded official correspondence. Anything short of such standards must, therefore, be disregarded.
We recognise and respect the autonomy of all APC chapters, and acknowledge the importance of maintaining clear, transparent, and respectful communication throughout the flagbearership process.
Dr. Bangura remains committed to engaging all stakeholders within the party with honesty, humility, and unity of purpose. He continues to uphold the values of the All People’s Congress and looks forward to a democratic, inclusive, and dignified contest that strengthens the APC as a party of the people.
We appreciate the feedback from some members of the APC Canada Branch, and reaffirm our commitment to working collaboratively with all party structures across the globe. We also thank all the leaders and supporters of the APC in Toronto for the warm welcome and support they provided during Dr. Bangura’s visit.
Together, let us heal, unite, and build the APC and Sierra Leone.
Signed:
