As he engages APC MPs in Parliament…

Jagaban promises to uplift Sierra Leone’s Status

In a significant move towards strengthening internal party cohesion and preparing for future leadership, Sheik Alhaji Mohamed “Omodu” Kamara better known as Jagaban, has met with members of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Party parliamentary group at the House of Parliament. The meeting aimed to foster familiarization, teamwork, and mutual understanding among party members.

Jagaban emphasized that true leadership is about transforming the lives of ordinary citizens, even amidst limited resources. He reaffirmed his wholehearted commitment to supporting the APC party and the people, declaring that he is ready to face any challenge that may arise in the fight for a better Sierra Leone.

Looking around the room, Jagaban acknowledged the presence and sympathy of the entourage. He drew comparisons between different regions of the country, urging party members to understand the deep struggles faced by citizens across the provinces.

Addressing the common question, “Who is Jagaban?”, he made it clear to the audience: leadership is not about when you arrive, but about what you can deliver. He stressed the need for unity, vision, and the capacity to lead Sierra Leone into a more prosperous future.

Jagaban boldly stated that he is the only politician within the APC who can effectively penetrate the strongholds of the ruling government. He encouraged his colleagues to broaden their understanding of the country’s challenges, asserting that only under APC leadership can Sierra Leone experience real change.

He also made an emotional appeal for support to Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora, particularly in the United States. He shared that he employs many unemployed Sierra Leoneans—some with military backgrounds—in his U.S.-based businesses, which reportedly earn over one million dollars in net profit weekly. He presented this as proof of his leadership capacity and economic competence, even outside of government.

In closing, Jagaban reminded the MPs present that Sierra Leone must not be compared with other West African nations like Ghana, emphasizing that with focused leadership and national unity, Sierra Leone can chart its unique path to greatness.

The Leader of the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) in Parliament Hon Abdul Kamara delivered a strong message of unity, tolerance, and political maturity.

Welcoming Jagaban’s visit to the House of Parliament, the APC parliamentary leader called for a level playing field for all aspirants within the party and emphasized that their “hands are open” to all, including Jagaban, in the spirit of inclusion and collaboration.

He urged all APC flag bearer aspirants to caution their supporters to remain law-abiding and peaceful throughout the party’s internal processes, warning that political ambition should not come at the expense of national stability.

Addressing future leadership, he made a passionate appeal: “Whoever emerges as leader—and possibly President—must not seek revenge against those who did not support them. Sierra Leone needs healing, not division,” he said.

He concluded by encouraging Jagaban and other aspirants to focus on unifying the party, cautioning against rhetoric or actions that might tear the APC apart ahead of critical national elections.

The visit and response signal a critical moment in APC’s internal politics, as key figures begin to position themselves for future leadership roles amid calls for reform and reconciliation.
