Opposition WHIP Whips Bio’s Feed Salone Agenda
Hon. Kemokoh Conteh of the Western Rural District has questioned President Bio’s food security, ‘Feed Salone’ project, during his outstanding contribution to the Parliamentary debate on the Presidential Address delivered on the occasion of the State Opening of the Second Session of the Sixth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone. He argued that the current food insecurity is worrisome and could be a recipe for national insecurity. He quoted the President’s speech as a fact, but urged the government to ensure that food, especially rice and basic amenities, are available and affordable by every citizen, regardless of their affiliations in society. Hon. Kemzo pointed out that food security is a fundamental human right, and that no government should deprive any human being from enjoying it, even if the individual is a convicted felon.
He called on President Bio to improve the deplorable health facility in Waterloo, which he considered to have been neglected by the current government, after his party, the APC, had refurbished it under the astute leadership of former President Ernest Koroma.
In his passionate words, Hon. Kemzo appealed to the President’s good conscience to urgently prioritize the rehabilitation of main roads buried in potholes around the capital city of Freetown. He stressed that they are not only eyesores, but are affecting the salaries of workers and the economic growth of the country.
Honorable Kemokoh Conteh is a renowned politician, whose astute and charismatic leadership have earned him a plethora of accolades. He is currently holding the office of the Whip (2) of the main opposition All People’s Congress Party in Parliament.
