$850,000 stolen at home….

Where Did the Nurse Get $850,000 From?

Many citizens listening to a news item on Liberty online TV, were shocked to learn that a retired nurse will have so much money in her house, despite the Bank of Sierra Leone directive banning the holding of more than $10,000 in one’s possession.

For many, the alleged stealing of the said amount by students is not of grave concern, but where did this nurse get all that amount of money from? Even a nurse with the highest rank in that profession in the USA will not have that kind of money, despite working for years before retirement, as things like bills and other expenses will have their toll on that cash.

Many concerned Sierra Leoneans are of the view that such amount of money can only be kept in a house by people engaged in dubious activities like drugs, money laundering or keeping cash stolen by politicians to evade detection.

The big question is: how did this nurse enter the country with such cash undetected? Many are of the view that the police should have investigated the nurse on where she got that huge amount of money and why is it not in the bank? Such an individual should be in police hands helping them in their investigation, as keeping such a huge amount at home is a violation of the BSL directive, therefore an offense. What has the FIU done about it?

The public wants to know about this nurse and the source of such a huge amount of money.
