Embattled Dr.Fatmata Thorlie
This medium has learnt from reliable sources that the notorious band of thugs nick named ‘Soja’ team who are linked the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) have vouched to revenge not on security operative who mistakenly shot the leg of their leader but the poor doctor who they alleged claimed failed to respond adequately to the situation of their wounded leader who was reportedly rushed at a private medical facility named ‘Konikay’ clinic in Eastern Freetown in the wake of efforts by security operatives to halt the peaceful August 10th protest that turned violent.
A neighbor who prefers anonymity told this press that ‘SOJA’ team’s quest for revenge was informed by the refusal of the opposition ‘APC’ doctor to do the needful on their wounded leader known as ‘Hungry Lion’ at the time he was taken to her ‘Konikay clinic medical facility for the required attention. She asserted that she saw Dr.Thorlie administering first aid to the wounded gang leader but had to later abandoned them on the pretext of lacking the capacity to respond to their case adequately which they claimed resulted to the amputation of their leader’s leg.
The source intimated how a gang member told her about how the so called doctor got herself exposed as a partisan medical mole on the day in question when her bag fell off her hands whilst trying to flee and it content spilled on the group among which she said was an opposition party membership card. She said the gang member further told her how Dr. Thorlie deserved to be thought some lessons because they consider her deployment in a community with huge SLPP membership presence was a free ticket given to her to use her profession to kill perceived opponents.
This press reached out at the ‘Konikay’ Clinic on #16 Personage Street, Kissy where it is learnt the female Doctor had abandoned both her duties as medical doctor and her home because of persistent threat by the gang.
Dr. Bah,a medic who also works at the facility explains what his colleague had explained to them about what transpired on that fateful August 10 Protest day at the facility when group of men rushed a man they identified as ‘hungry lion’ who had allegedly been shot on his left leg in an apparent friendly fire and that they were forcefully demanding immediate medical intervention.
He noted that on the said date most the clinic staff could show up for duties both over security concerns and non-availability transportation and that their colleague Dr. Fatmata Thorlie was the only senior medical personnel on call on the day in question, Dr. Bah went on to explained how her colleague had told them about the reasonable effort she made towards stabilising the victim but his situation was too serious to be handled by her alone and had to politely request them to rush the patient to Connaught Hospital before time fades out but the gang insisted she had the capacity to handle the case but was merely refusing.
Their persistent harassment of her person Dr. Bah went further explained led her colleague to escape to Ross Road police station in a bid to seek for assistance but discovered only two personnel on post who could not help out. “Our facility was hunted by these marauding thugs for days after the violent protests with claims that our colleague was responsible for the amputation of their leader’s leg and wants her to pay for that” he narrated.
Dr. Bah further disclosed that the gang went as far as pursuing their colleague in her home which led her to relocate to a family member in undisclosed location. He said they had reported the threats to the police but could do nothing as they see the gang group to be too powerful and one that could do anything to anyone with nothing coming of it because of their closeness to the presidency.
Several efforts to get on to Dr. Fatmata Thorlie both on her phone and residence by this press proves futile
