The Town Chief of Kailahun Town, Chief Alpha Bingo Ndolleh, on Sunday led the pouring of libation to commence the spreading of artificial turf at the Kailahun Mini Stadium, a project that is exclusively undertaken by Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, the Executive Director of NSA.
Seeking the blessings of God and of the forefathers of the land, Cheif Ndolleh said the Project is a legacy. “The field was in bad shape. With the artificial turf, we will now call this place mini stadium, because the current ambiance befits it,” he said.

Speaking, National Stadium Manager, Paul Damulay, thanked Dr. Abdulai for ensuring that they underwent training with the Chinese during the rehabilitation of the National Stadium. “The turf will be installed by those trained locally,” he said.
Saidu Daboh, Caretaker of the Kailahun Mini Stadium, said the complex is a dream-come-true. “We have got what we were yearning for,” he remarked, adding that President Bio did not make any mistake in appointing Dr. Abdulai.

On his part, the Secretary General of Kailahun District Descendant Association, Nasiru Deen Koroma, said they fought for over fifteen years to upgrade the Kailahun Field until Saffa took realistic actions. The end of his statement saw the decoration of Dr. Abdulai with a sash to formally co-opt him into the descendant conclave.
For the Chairman of the Kailahun District Council, Ahmed Kekeh Sahr Lamin, taking the Luawa name beyond the borders of Sierra Leone is worth celebrating. He announced that he is working with Dr. Abdulai to secure land to construct a vocational institute in Kailahun.
At the highpoint, Dr. Abdulai said President Bio will open the Kailahun Mini Stadium once the installation of the artificial turf is done. “This project is my personal money,” he clarified, calling on Kailahun people to own it, thanking his wife for it and declaring his intention to succeed President Bio when the time comes.
Vice Chairman of the Kailahun District Football Association, Philip Foday Momoh, said Dr. Abdulai is passionate about spending money on football. He declared his membership for Luawa FC because of the Artificial Project.
MP Sarty Banya of Kailahun Distirct said Saffa’s tenure at NSA has brought huge development. “The growth of football in Kailahun today can be traced to him,” he disclosed, calling for proper maintenance after the Project will have ended, saying they feel inspired to support it.
Former MP of Kailahun, Madam Navo Kaikai, revealed that Saffa represented her in court for free when APC took legal action against her, adding that Saffa has strong love for his hometown.
“We will support you to have a standard pavilion with a toilet facility,” she told Dr. Abdulai, calling on Kailahun people to take care of the field.
