Pee Cee & Sons Limited has issued a strong public warning to the general public over a fraudulent online message circulating on social media, particularly on WhatsApp, falsely claiming that individuals can receive money using the company’s name. The company clarified that the message is a scam and has no connection whatsoever with its operations or promotional activities.
In an official statement released on February 19, 2026, the management of Pee Cee & Sons categorically denied any involvement in the so-called cash promotion. The company described the circulating message as false, deceptive, and malicious, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to cybercriminals exploiting its reputable brand.
The statement further emphasized that Pee Cee & Sons does not conduct promotions, giveaways, or financial reward schemes through WhatsApp links, unfamiliar websites, or unverified digital platforms. The company warned that any message claiming otherwise should be treated as fraudulent and ignored immediately.
Management also advised the public not to click on suspicious links, provide personal details, or share financial information with unknown sources. Customers were urged to report the fake message through WhatsApp’s reporting system and delete it immediately to prevent further spread.
Pee Cee & Sons made it clear that it will not be held responsible for any losses incurred by individuals who fall victim to the scam. The company reiterated that all legitimate announcements, promotions, or business communications are released only through its official and verified channels.
The alert comes amid a growing wave of online impersonation and digital fraud schemes targeting well-known companies in Sierra Leone. Cybercriminals often exploit trusted corporate brands to trick unsuspecting members of the public into revealing sensitive personal and financial information.
Established in 1965, Pee Cee & Sons Limited is one of Sierra Leone’s leading importers, distributors, and wholesalers, known for its commitment to ethical business practices and corporate responsibility.
The company reaffirmed its dedication to transparency and urged customers and partners to verify any promotional information directly through official company platforms.
Authorities have consistently advised citizens to remain cautious when receiving unsolicited financial offers online, and to report suspicious activities to relevant platforms and law enforcement agencies.
Members of the public are encouraged to confirm the authenticity of any promotion directly with the company involved before taking any action, as vigilance remains the strongest defense against online fraud.
