Sumbuya LUGBU Chiefdom’s vibrant people gathered in unity and celebration as Paramount Chief Ensah Badara Nallo VI marked his 4th anniversary in office, a milestone defined by peace, progress, and a vision for sustainable development.
In his keynote address, Chief Nallo expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of his people and stakeholders over the past four years, describing his reign as a journey of unity, cooperation, and steady transformation.
Peace and Unity at the Heart of Leadership
Since ascending to the throne, Chief Nallo emphasized that his foremost priority has been to maintain peace, harmony, and strong ties among the chieftaincy, stakeholders, and the people. This stability has laid the foundation for development and attracted partnerships across different sectors.
Key Achievements in Four Years
The Paramount Chief highlighted several notable achievements that reflect his administration’s commitment to progress:
Infrastructure Development: Construction of modern town barrays in Bangorama, Feiba, Hiema, and Kalleh, with ongoing projects still underway.
Strategic Partnerships: A fruitful collaboration with Sierra Tropical Limited through the SDAP and CDAP projects, bringing tangible benefits to the people.
Community Contributions: Support from indigenes like Mr. Ansumana Idriss of Momango Palace and Mr. Moisa Sallu Rogers Nallo Keikura, who rebuilt the Paramount Chief’s residence, constructed hospitals, boosted education, and donated vital facilities, including vehicles, generators, and musical sets.
Youth Empowerment: Creation of jobs, sporting activities, and peace campaigns to engage young people positively and strengthen unity.
Education Support: Scholarships across all levels of learning and stipends for twenty primary school teachers.
Ongoing Projects: Construction of a chiefdom center mosque, a hospital, internal roads, a crossing-point bridge, and clean water facilities.
Security and Stability: Continued efforts to maintain law, order, and a safe environment for residents and investors alike.
A Land of Untapped Opportunities
Chief Nallo drew attention to the immense potential of Sumbuya LUGBU Chiefdom, describing it as a virgin land, rich in natural and human resources. The chiefdom boasts gold, diamonds, bauxite, zircon, fertile agricultural land, and countless investment opportunities. He called upon the government, development partners, and international organizations to recognize and invest in these untapped treasures for the benefit of Sierra Leone as a whole.
Vision for the Future
Looking forward, Chief Nallo pledged to:
- Advocate for 24-hour electricity, improved health facilities, and quality education.
- Promote business and agricultural ventures that create jobs and empower local communities.
- Safeguard all investments to ensure benefits directly reach the people of Sumbuya LUGBU Chiefdom.
- Uphold peace, unity, and the cultural heritage of the chiefdom.
Gratitude to Sons and Daughters Abroad
He also extended heartfelt appreciation to sons and daughters of the soil, both at home and abroad, including Kona Nancy Nallo (Mrs. Weston in Australia), for their ongoing support and love for their homeland.
