Over arrears owed to Lebanese Business Man…

Pavifort Boss Alimu Barrie Vindicated

Contrary to what was earlier published against the Chief Executive Officer of Pavifort , Alimu Sanu Barrie, that he is refusing to pay a Lebanese supplier, Ahmed Yayah , Managing Director of SS Wood Work Company on Torwama Road in Bo city, recent investigation uncovered that the matter in question was never brought to the attention of the company. During findings conducted by some cross section of journalists, it was learned that even the boards taken from S S Wood Work Company were done by a subcontractor of Pavifort, who usually supplied timbers to the company. It is understood that after the supply of the timbers, the matter was never brought to the company’s attention, and this baffled the company when publications was made on newspapers on the issue.

In an interview with Alimu Barrie, he told journalists that his company is presently in a very strong footing and that anything that has to do with arrears is something they don’t joke with. Barrie expressed disappointment over the whole matter, stressing that companies the world over are always indebted and that does not warrant or justify negative publicity. “In an event they could not reach me, we have an office in Bo. They could have easily gone there and channel their concerns” Barrie stated. “But to take advantage of the media just to bring me down or try to tarnish the name and image of the company is something I totally dislike.”

Pavifort Company Lawyer Sheriff explained that they only came to know about the issue after publication has been made in newspapers. He said the company is in a better position to always respond to correspondences; as a result they are unable to decipher who could have received a purported letter from a firm addressed to the company without bringing it to their attention. ” I only came to know about this after publication,” Lawyer Sheriff said. “I even spoke to the Company Lawyer and we discussed it. The company has therefore advised that in an event they have issues or unsettling payment with suppliers, it is better they go through the proper channel, as Pavifort is a big company operating not only in Sierra Leone, but also in other countries. The company has therefore promised to amicably resolve the issue, though their name and that of the boss has been dragged to disrepute.”
