Police Mount Man-Hunt For Kadiatu Koroma

According to sources in Western Rural Area, one  Kadiatu Koroma, has gone into hiding after being tortured by security forces and accused of aiding and abetting the escape of a suspect believed to have participated in the attempted coup of 26th November 2023.

According to reliable sources, Kadiatu Koroma is accused of haboring and aiding the escape of a suspect, Mohamed Issa Koroma, accused of being involved in the 26th November 2023 attempted coup against the Julius Maada Bio government.
According to our sources, Issa Koroma, the alleged suspect being sought after by the security forces, is the uncle of Kadiatu Koroma (brother of her father), and that shortly after the attempted coup, followed by heavy gun fighting in west and central Freetown, Mohamed Issa Koroma is said to have sought refuge at his brother’s place in the eastern outskirts of the capital, Jui.

Police sources say that they had intelligence that Issa was able to escape with the help of his brother’s family, adding that eye witnesses saw Kadiatu Koroma stealthily lead her uncle via their backyard into a bush path, disguising him as a woman. The police furthered that when they stormed the residence on 27th November, Mohamed Issa Koroma was not found and that they interrogated the entire family, but to no avail. After which armed guards were detailed to watch the house. They later got news that Kadiatu Koroma had escaped.

Investigation mounted by this medium in the area revealed that Kadiatu Koroma and her family were arrested and taken away by armed security forces to unknown location and tortured. They also recalled seeing Kadiatu limping with her family when they were returned by the security forces late in the evening in an unregistered vehicle occupied by armed guards. They furthered that some armed security officers stayed behind watching Kadiatu’s house. They also recalled that late in the night they saw the visibly angry armed guards fire indiscriminately in the area, claiming that she had escaped, and threatened to kill anyone in the neighborhood who harbors her. Every house in the area was ransacked, as the armed men searched for her. When they could not find her, they turned on the family, mercilessly beating them. Our sources in the area maintained that since that day, their area became a hotspot, with regular police raids on houses in the area.

Our sources further revealed that several alleged suspects of the attempted coup were gunned down not far from their area, as a result, some residents left for safer areas. As we go to press the whereabouts of Kadiatu Koroma are still unknown, and the police have sent out a search party looking for her and her fugitive uncle.
