On June 30, 2025, Sheik Alhaji Mohammed Omodu Kamara, affectionately known as Jagaban, performed Asr prayer at Masjid Umar ibn Al-Khattab on Rawdon Street.
The Chief Imam, on behalf of the entire Jamaat, warmly welcomed Jagaban and his esteemed entourage. With heartfelt gratitude, he praised Jagaban’s unwavering dedication and remarkable contributions towards the upliftment of the Muslim community, not only here in Freetown, but across all of Sierra Leone. His tireless efforts have sown seeds of progress and hope, inspiring unity and development.
In a heartfelt appeal, the Imam reminded Jagaban of a pending request— a letter sent earlier seeking his generous support to complete the Masjid construction project. Though the response was awaited, on the said visit, by the grace of Allah, Jagaban’s presence is a divine sign of answered prayers and renewed hope. The community believes firmly that whatever blessings Allah has bestowed upon him, he will use them to uplift the house of Allah.
Moved by their trust and love, Jagaban responded with humility and generosity handed NLe 40,000 immediately towards the Masjid project. His kindness sparked a wave of joy and gratitude among the congregation, a testament to his sincere commitment to serve his people.
The Imam led the congregation in a special supplication, praying: “O Allah, protect our beloved son, brother, uncle (Jagaban) from every harm and evil eye. Illuminate his path with Your divine guidance. Grant him strength, wisdom, and the political power he seeks, to continue serving Your creation.”
The congregation’s heartfelt Ameen resonated loudly— a spiritual affirmation of unity and faith.
