Baluwa Koroma Becomes Vice Chair For World Petroleum Council
The Director General of the NPRA (National Petroleum Regulatory Authority), Brima Baluwa Koroma, has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the World Petroleum Council and placed in charge of pipelines, storage and Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
Mr. Baluwa Koroma will serve as Vice Chairman on the Technical Programme of the 25th World Petroleum Council Energy Congress with the theme “Pathways to an Energy Future for all” as the *in charge of – Pipelines, Storage and Strategic Petroleum Reserves.
As a Forum, together with the Chair and Co-Vice Chair, Mr Baluwa Koroma will be responsible to examine advancements in pipeline technology, storage solutions, and the Strategic significance of Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPRs) in mitigating supply disruptions.
In addition, key areas of discussion and concentration encompass:
- Enhancing pipeline safety
- Optimizing Storage capacity.
- The role of SPRs in emergency response and market stabilization.
His contribution to a resilient energy system within a dynamic global energy security and market stability is highly considered for this appointment, leveraging on his sound leadership in the downstream Petroleum sector in SierraLeone.
