Evangelist Massah Mustapha on the Run

Even though Sierra Leone seems to be a religious tolerance country, but some parts are not especially when about 75% of the population are Muslims and preaching against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is not encouraged.
According to a friend of Massah, the first violence attack was on August 2021 as community youth of Torwama in Bo District mobilised and attacked Massah Mustapha evangelism group on their way home but they were fortunate to escape.


Mahawa Alieu, a relative of Massah disclosed to this medium that again on September 2021, Massah evangelism group has another attacked and the others flee on their home as they were confronted by a group of men armed with crude weapons and launched an unprovoked and coordinated attack on them, noting, “as we attempted to flee for their safety, Massah stumbled and fell, at which point she was mercilessly beaten to death”.
She stated that the attack was targeted and retaliatory, directly linked to her lawful religious outreach activities and the messages she was preaching especially on FGM which she went through and with experienced during the process one of her cousin died and she was afraid that gave her the motivation to preach against FGM as categorically stated on her evangelism is not in any of the verses of the Holy Bible.

Joseph Momoh another relative explained that the others flee and Massah was mercilessly beaten to death and the matter was reported to the Torwama Police Station and Chief Jajuwa and Massah was issued with a medical form and later returned with it after some medical treatment and the attackers were nowhere to be found, inserting, “since then, Massah seems to see that her life is under threat as seems to have no protection from the authorities and went on hiding and her whereabout is yet unknown”.
Upto press time her whereabout is unknown.
