Bravura Mining Company Officially Opens Recruitment Process for Sierra Leoneans

In a significant development for the engineering and mining sectors in Sierra Leone, Bravura A.S., Africa’s largest mining company, has officially opened its recruitment process for geologists, mining engineers, and mechanical engineers. This move signals not just job creation, but also an exciting opportunity for skilled professionals to engage in large-scale mining operations that promise to enhance the country’s economic landscape.

Mr. Fassally Tarawally, the Country Representative for Bravura Sierra Leone, announced that interested applicants are encouraged to drop off their CVs at the company’s office located at 10 Walpole Street in Freetown. “We are seeking talented individuals who are keen to be a part of our ambitious projects,” he stated, emphasizing the company’s commitment to building a robust team to support its growing operations in the country.

Bravura’s ventures extend beyond Sierra Leone, with notable operations already underway in Zimbabwe. The company has been making strides in acquiring essential platinum mining machinery and designing a dense media separation plant tailored for lithium extraction. Manufactured by Manhattan Corporation of South Africa, this cutting-edge separation plant is currently in transit, awaiting the final approvals for shipment to Zimbabwe, as ongoing civil works at Kamativi progress.

The mining consortium’s activities in Zimbabwe include the promising Bravura platinum mine in Selous, which has already completed exploration work and is now conducting feasibility studies ahead of commencing actual mining. Additionally, Bravura is also processing old tin mining dumps at Kamativi for lithium, expected to come online next year. These dumps, comprising approximately 25 million tonnes of material, have the potential to yield an annual capacity of 70,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate, a key ingredient in lithium production.

Bravura’s ambitious plans not only spotlight the company’s dedication to resource extraction, but also its role in fostering economic growth in the regions where it operates. The recruitment of local geologists, mining engineers, and mechanical engineers will allow for the development of skills within the community, promoting sustainable job creation and paving the way for future opportunities in the booming mining sector.

As Sierra Leone continues to explore its vast mineral resources, Bravura’s investment signifies a pivotal moment for the country’s mining industry. Local engineers and geologists now face an exciting opportunity to be part of a transformative journey that promises to revitalize not only the mining sector, but the broader economy. With Bravura leading the charge, the future looks bright for engineering professionals looking to make their mark in the resource-rich landscapes of Sierra Leone.
