Sierra Leone Police has declared Alvin Johnson and Partner wanted on allegations of gay
Both Alvin and partner are residents of 45 Easton Street, Kissy Road in Freetown and have been suspected of being a gay.
Regardless of the physical damages and other forms of bitter experience incurred in the Kissy road community and it environs several years ago, it appears there is still no peace of mind for Alvin and partner.
According to family sources across Sierra Leone since Religious activists of both denominations demonstrated openly across the city of Freetown last year most gay activists feel uncomfortable.
The religious leaders in Sierra Leone were calling on the government not to abide by the call made by the British PM and President Obama that any African Country that refuses to encourage gay and lesbianism will not receive aid from them anymore.
This statement made the whole situation get worst as Muslims and Christians went on the Rampage and took the Street of Freetown with anti banners.
Since that happened Alvin and partner out of fear are belived to have left the country on 31st January, 2022 to an unknown destination in.
Anti Gay Campaigners in Sierra Leone see this latest development as success story for the gay activists to be gripped with panic and voluntarily flee before they could be caught at the middle one day!
These young folks are now fugitives as their names and photos were among those declared wanted by the police.
The Western Region and Freetown City, in particular, became a target of upheavals since the assumption of office by President Julius Maada Bio in 2018. The Inhabitants of both Freetown and the entire West have since been subjected to all forms of humiliation.
It came to a time when the People of Freetown City objected and even protested when a combined team of Armed Police and Military Personnel stormed the City to forcefully demolish the premises of where Alvin and partner where reside.
This resulted in a blood bath in which a lot of innocent people were injured and killed while others were arrested and sent to jail.
Many people including Alvin and partner, contrived an escape and have since been on the run.
As in the case of several others, this couple is being pursued by the Sierra Leone Police for the alleged offences of Conspiracy of gay practice.
The Times Sierra Leone Western Correspondent in Freetown City said Alvin and partner have been issued with a Warrant of Arrest and their No. 45 Easton Street, Kissy Road Residence was recently raided by Armed men in Uniform when rumours went out that Alvin and partner have returned to Freetown City.
Sources said there is a ray of indiscriminate arrests across the Western Region and it would be advisable for both Alvin and partner to keep their distance.
Times SL Newspaper also learned that quite a good number of those in police detention and prisons were allegedly identified by gay practices.
Civil Society Organizations have also questioned the unlawful arrest and detention of people mostly practice gay.
Police spokesman Brima Kamara said all those wanted to have questions to answer. ” we are not cheery picking people who to arrest but we follow the law and those that are defaulters of it. So if anyone is saying we are taking instructions from the ruling party, then it is their cup of tea. As for us, we know we have enough evidence against all those declared wanted” Kamara stated.
Apart from Alvin and partner, there are a good number of people in the strongholds of the Opposition APC whose whereabouts are unknown. A few days ago, the Bombi Descendants Organizations summoned a news conference where they told the Press that during the gay skirmishes in Freetown, they noticed that over 30 people were missing.
They therefore called on the government to come out and tell them the whereabouts of their close ones.
