ALFRED BANGURA GOES MISSING IN FEAR OF SAFETY

Alfred Bangura, a resident of Freetown, has been pronounced missing by family members in the aftermath of the August 10th popular demonstration in the Sierra Leone Capital in 2022.

Led mostly by youth and other ordinary Sierra Leoneans protesting the high cost of living and general hardship in the country, the protest of August 10th, 2022, has experienced a serious crackdown by the Government of Sierra Leone on all those involved or accused of being involved in it.
According to report, officials believe Alfred was sighted in the demonstrations and considered a ringleader. During one of many house-to-house raids by the Government the report adds, a sister of his is reported to have sustained bullet wounds while Alfred is said to have swiftly fled the area of the said raid in Freetown.

On the advice of his elder brother to immediately leave the country, Alfred is reported to have left the Sierra Leone worried that he would be arrested by the authorities or targeted for lynching by pro-government supporters.
Even after the events of August 10th, the authorities still continue to search for all those deemed to be key players in the protest and had declared all those involved in the protest as “terrorists.”
Unconfirmed report states that Alfred Bangura might be in a foreign country in fear for his dear life while others believe he is languishing in a local prison.
