The President for the Friends of Ernest Bai Koroma, Sahr Mokuwah has said the former president told him in telephone conversation that he has not endorse or declare support for anyone intend to aspire for the position presidential candidate under the APC ahead of the 2028 election.

I just spoke with former President Ernest Bai Koroma again, and he has repeatedly told me that he’s not in any position to support any Flagbearer candidate within the All People’s Congress (APC).
He stresses to me that those who are using his name that he has endorsed him or her against others for the Flagbearer candidate to succeed in the next Convention, come 2026, are total cowards who don’t believe in their popularity to win by themselves or convince the grassroots. It is a complete misplacement of their campaign to the delegates to vote for them.
He further told me that when he wanted to be the flagbearer of the party, he never used the late President Joseph Saidu Momo’s name against others; instead, he used his reputation to convince the supporters who later became delegates to vote for him as Flagbearer of the party.
He told me, “Mokuwah, I have agreed to take full responsibility for the 2018 and 2023 general elections in supporting Dr Samura Kamara. In the end, all the party stakeholders and supporters levied the blame on me for directing them rather than their choosing for themselves, so now I’m neutral in the coming APC convention.
“My son, you are one of the few I can talk to if you call me to get information about things that you are in doubt about, because I don’t want others to misinform the public about what I don’t say.
To the grassroots, the former President, who also doubled to be the former Chairman and Leader of the APC party, advised them to continue to build up the party’s faith for the next general elections, but they have the right to choose whosoever they think will win for the party in the next general elections, “let nobody use my name to scare you not to follow your choice of who you think can win the presidency for the party.”
Finally, he called on the party executive to encourage all flagbearers who want to run for the party Flagbearer position to participate fully in building up the party spirit for the next general elections.
