DR. IBRAHIM BANGURA IS OPTIMISTIC
Reports have confirmed that the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) leading flagbearer aspirant, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura is optimistic about his chances of winning the flagbearer election during the party’s National Delegates Conference in Port Loko City this year.
According to confirmed reports, there are growing signs that Dr. Ibrahim Bangura’s supporters at home and abroad are not only working more closely together, but they are also making frantic efforts to identify delegates who will back him in the vote for APC flagbearer at the convention.
With the party’s convention drawing closer, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura reportedly appears to be making steady progress, with visible backing from party members in the nook and cranny of the country, as well as the diaspora communities.
His level of engagement, according to observers, indicates that he is currently leading in the race for the party’s 2026 flagbearer.
During his recent visit to Kailahun District, a prominent Kono politician, Hon. Finda Diana Konomanyi publicly declared her support for Dr. Ibrahim Bangura and urged delegates to prioritise humility, capacity, and quality leadership in their choice of flagbearer, describing the leading APC flagbearer as the candidate who best embodies those qualities.
Like Hon. Finda Diana Konomanyi, many other prominent party members at home and abroad have declared their support for Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, to lead the party to the 2028 national elections.
Many have described the eloquent scholar as the only clean presidential flagbearer aspirant for both the APC and Sierra Leone at large, capable of winning and transforming the 2028 elections.
Others believe that Sierra Leoneans need the leadership of Dr. Ibrahim Bangura he is trustworthy, honest, and transparent, which they say are qualities Sierra Leone desperately needs.
A diehard supporter said, “Dr. Ibrahim Bangura is development-driven with a proven record of service and community engagement. He does not only represent a new era of leadership that prioritises people over politics, but he is also committed to delivering results that uplift families, restore dignity, and strengthen the nation.”
Among APC members and supporters at home and abroad, there is a growing desire for leadership that inspires confidence, restores hope, protects our national dignity, and puts the interests of the people above personal and political ambitions. It is against this backdrop that Dr. Ibrahim Bangura has emerged as a name increasingly associated with a different kind of leadership; a leadership that is built on trust, competence, integrity, national unity, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of Sierra Leone.
Many see Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, as the people’s choice, the trusted hand, and the undeniable face of transformation, while others see him as an emerging symbol of hope, development, and political strength who represents the future that APC must embrace.
Meanwhile, sources close to the APC Secretariat indicate that Dr. Ibrahim Bangura did extremely well in the District Executive Elections in many parts of the country, as well as the other lower-level elections that were conducted by the party.
