The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Hon. Chernor Bah, has welcomed a delegation from Malawi to Sierra Leone for a 10-day knowledge exchange programme focused on sharing practical experiences in civic education, institutional coordination, peacebuilding, local governance, and citizen engagement.
Welcoming the delegation at his Youyi Building office today, 5th October 2026, Minister Bah described the visit as an important learning opportunity and expressed hope that it would be a fruitful experience for both countries, with participants learning from each other’s experiences and approaches.
The Minister noted that the Chairperson of NaCCED and the Permanent Secretary will lead and coordinate the engagement, while encouraging the delegation to make the most of their time in Sierra Leone by engaging with institutions, exchanging ideas, and building lasting partnerships.
Reflecting on his own experience in Malawi about 15 years ago, Minister Bah spoke warmly of the country and its people, describing Malawians as warm, welcoming people with an immense sense of pride.
He also encouraged the delegation to go beyond the formal engagements and experience Sierra Leone’s culture and hospitality, including trying some of the country’s local cuisine.
Minister Bah expressed hope that, just as the Malawian delegation is visiting Sierra Leone, there will one day be an opportunity for Sierra Leone to visit Malawi and further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
