The National Chairman of the Citizens Democratic Party (CDP), Victor O. King, has reportedly confirmed in an interview with local radio station that Jimmy Batilo Songa became involved in the ongoing dispute surrounding Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally, while cautioning against using the party as a platform to settle personal or political differences.

In the interview, Chairman King stated that Musa Tarawally is no longer a member of the CDP, saying Tarawally left the party in 2018 and therefore should not be considered part of its current affairs.

King also advised Songa against becoming involved in matters that could negatively affect his reputation or damage the image of the CDP.

According to King, he advised Songa to find another solution to address the current impasse between his leadership that if Tarawally, the issues should be resolved separately and should not be brought into the CDP.

He further stressed that the CDP should not be drawn into matters that could portray the party negatively or create the impression that it is being used to target an individual.

King also distance himself and the CDP from any personal dispute with Tarawally, stating that they have no personal dealings or issues with him.

The comments come amid an ongoing dispute involving Tarawally and individuals associated with the CDP. The CDP National Chairman cautioned Songa against participating in any action that could be perceived as an attempt to undermine Tarawally.

King’s position was that, Chairman Songa should not involve the CDP in personal disagreements and that matters concerning Tarawally should be handled outside the party
