In a time when politics is often defined by division and harsh rhetoric, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura is charting a different path — one rooted in respect, dialogue, and unity. As a prominent flagbearer aspirant, he is making his case not with anger, but with a calm call for peaceful and respectful politics.
“We can compete without hatred,” Dr. Bangura says. “Leadership means setting an example, and that means listening as much as speaking.”
Dr. Bangura, known for his academic background and thoughtful approach, has urged fellow aspirants to focus their campaigns on policy, community needs, and shared national vision, rather than personal attacks. His message of “Love Over Hate” has become a defining slogan among supporters, especially young people who are tired of toxic politics.
Across community forums and youth town halls, he has emphasized the importance of peaceful dialogue, encouraging his supporters to engage others with civility. His campaign has prioritized open forums where citizens can ask questions, share concerns, and discuss solutions in a calm atmosphere.
For Dr. Bangura, peaceful politics is not just a slogan — it is a practice. He often reminds volunteers and supporters that Sierra Leone’s progress depends on collective goodwill. “When we choose love over hate, we choose progress over division,” he says. “Our country thrives when we treat each other with dignity.”
Among all flagbearer aspirants, Dr. Bangura’s approach stands out. While others trade accusations, he has consistently called for mutual respect. He has publicly praised good ideas from other camps, attended events hosted by fellow aspirants, and refused to engage in character attacks.
“Disagreement is normal in any democracy,” he explains. “What matters is how we disagree. We must disagree respectfully, honorably, putting the people’s interest above our own.”
Looking ahead, Dr. Bangura has outlined a clear vision for governance built on trust and inclusion. He advocates for transparent leadership, policy-driven campaigns, and unity among all political contenders. “The goal is not just to win an election, but to bring people together afterward,” he notes. His platform focuses on education reform, healthcare access, and youth employment.
He has called on fellow aspirants to commit to a code of peaceful conduct throughout the election season, proposing joint peace pledges and public forums to address misinformation.
“Politics should be about service,” Dr. Bangura states. “We are all Sierra Leoneans first. Our differences should inspire ideas, not hostility.”
As the election season continues, he remains committed to meeting with constituents across regions, holding peaceful rallies and dialogues. “Love over hate is not just a message — it is a commitment to how we live, and how we build together.”
Analysts note that his message is resonating with younger voters who want calm, respectful leadership focused on solutions.
